About

Karis King recently graduated from the Fine Arts Center and Wade Hampton High School in Greenville, SC. Her studies throughout her art career have included design, photography, ceramics, metals, drawing and painting, digital art, and the completion of a 3D AP portfolio during her junior year in high school. While honing her skills in various mediums, she discovered that metals and sculpture are her passion. She currently studies at Brevard College with plans to earn a double major with a BA in Studio Art with concentrations in both sculpture and digital art and a BA in Communications.

Her most notable exhibition to date was being a Featured Artist and giving a Portfolio Presentation at the Rising Stars Piccolo Spoleto Series in June of 2023. She also received 1st Place in Visual Arts in the SC PTA Reflections Program School and District Level exhibition for her piece titled Remember Those Days. This piece moved on to state awards in the Spring of 2023. She was additionally a Featured Artist for her work An Anxious Bouquet at the Artfields Jr. Competition in Lake City, SC as of May 2023.

Several of King’s works have been published, from her Celebrating Art Publication of Head in the Clouds Ring sponsored by Blick Art Materials in their Spring 2022 edition to a Featured Artist Publication of several art works in the Chiaroscuro Literary Art Journal at Brevard College in May of 2024. One of her works in Chiaroscuro, titled Gregory, also received honors in the publication, winning 3rd place in the visual arts category.

King continues to hone her love of both art and communications into professional outlets while attending school. She has completed two internships: one in 2023 under the jeweler Caro Designs, and one in 2024 with United Ministries. While with Caro Designs, King focused on how to professionally market visual art to the public. On the other hand, King discovered how to combine marketing with visual arts in her internship with United Ministres. She also has been hired for various marketing jobs across the 2021-2024 time period by a chemical company called Toll Solutions.
